DISTRICT 2 SNAPSHOTS - 2013

One of the largest pumpkins seen in these parts was brought to the Casino for a carver to create something from it.  You can get an idea of its size by the almost six foot man that was carving it.

He worked on it for about 5 hours and when he had almost completed it, the back was sculpted with flowing hair.

The meeting was well attended and the spirit of the members attending was very upbeat and enthusiastic.

A number of workshops were offered and were attended by our membership.  Everything was located in the casino building so moving from one   meeting to a workshop was very easy and convenient.

Nearly 200 Soroptimists were
on hand as can be seen in this photo.  Here a main meeting has just ended and President Evie (L) and Rebecca (R) are preparing to leave for the next thing on the agenda.

These Beanies that made their way to the Tell & Sell table are waiting for someone to go "awww - so cute!" and buy one.  About half of them found new homes in the hour and a half allowed for sales.

In this photo, President Evie and Heidi are finished setting up the table before the sales started.  A big Thank You! to Heidi who manned the table from start to finish and kept a sales patter going.

At Tell & Sell this lady was a walking billboard for her club and spent the entire time walking around the room getting folks to find the table for the Chehalem Valley Club.  One other club had a member shouting in the middle of the room about their hats for sale.

This is our President giving the Inspiration speech at the closing ceremonies on Sunday morning.  She related the story of our WOA winner from 2013 and how it has been an inspiration to our club this past year.

Dinner entertainment was provided by two Hawaiian Dancers who performed several different dances including some from other island cultures.  This picture was the final dance, and nobody seemed to notice the colors being used by the girl on the right!
